This project calls into question the validity of constructed personalities and whether or not these personalities are fictional or real. Over the course of a few months in 2011, I traveled the country photographing people I only know because of their (our) presence in an online message board.

What I hoped to glean from the project was a better understanding of what constitutes an entirely virtual personality through examination of people I only know from the Internet. What I found while traveling and meeting these strangers was that we all shared a sort of familial bond, with me serving as the family genealogist.

The implied meme stuff will emerge as I continue to process sheets of film (instant proofs are displayed below), write about my experiences, and research the difference between online and face-to-face communication.
